Looks like a great machine, but the new Macbook Pro starts at US$1999 in the USA but is € 1799 here in Germany, which is $2,444. Imagine that loaded up with overpriced Adobe apps. Seems like a raw deal for Europeans again. Isn’t it America’s economy that’s on the rocks?

You forgot to mention that US$ 1999 would be € 1467. Price policies, hrmpf.
I did work it out in that direction too, but the numbers sounded more grim in dollars, and I could make the jibe about the US economy!
It’s rubbish though eh?
It starts at 2,099.00 down under. Horay for a crashing dollar :S
Don’t want to spoil the party in here, but just as a reminder, the US prices are always clear prices while the german prices are given with VAT included. Ok, in some states you don’t need to pay sales taxes, but heyho…
So, doing some math:
€ 1467 + 19 % = 1467 *1.19 = € 1745
quite close, isn’t it? ;-)
Personally I find it quite annoying that Mac prices in the UK rose: The smallest Macbook was reduced by 100$ which resulted in a 20£ increase. Conversion rates, I guess …
Don’t spoil my grumbling…
i’ m not sure if i like the new design; i really appreciated the former look.
I wouldn’t turn one down.
