Regine just posted a project that has great relevance to the current GMU, Interactivity, Play and the Everyday project. It’s by Yuichiro Katsumoto from imgl/Keio Media Design in Japan and basically the idea is that instead of trying to cram loads of tech into objects, you RFID tag them instead and carry the sensors on your body. In this case it is in the form of an armband. It’s a smart way of thinking about the computing part of making things interactive or playful as of course it makes sense to centralise some of it.
One could imagine that some of the sensors in mobile phones, especially the iPhone, might be put to a similar use. After all, you’re carrying these gadgets around all the time - they have headphones and some computing power.
