You may have seen my Playpen blogging about Aram Bartholl’s Random Screen piece in Transmediale 07. I’ve been looking around at his other projects and they are really great and certainly you should take a look - lot’s of nice analogue/digital cross-over ideas.
This one here is from his TV Filter project. It’s simply boxes with diffuser on that you put over a TV screen, but the whole thing averages the pixels really nicely. Check the out the video.
Another piece makes a physical crossover of the marker balloons used in Google Maps.
